Competition Obedience
Tuesday Nights @ 6:00 p.m.
This class is for beginners as well as those with some obedience skills. It is suitable for dogs and handlers wishing to compete in AKC obedience and rally, as well as Schutzhund. We will begin with heeling and focused attention, fronts and finishes, and the all-important skill of going to a target. In addition, we will also introduce some of the more advanced obedience exercises:
- An inducive retrieve;
- Jumping fundamentals including the broad jump;
- Drop on Recall;
- Go Outs;
- Sit, Down and Stand.

Foundation Skills for Puppies
Tuesday Nights @ 5.30 p.m.
Learning to learn, this class is for puppies and their people who want to go on to compete in agility or obedience. We will learn tricks that will help shape your puppy's thinking skills.

AKC Rally FUNdamentals
This class will cover AKC Rally skills and assumes you have at least some obedience skills. We will learn to execute each of the rally stations correctly, and work on sequences commonly found in Rally competitions. Learn the basics of the rally exercises while working on focus and attitude. In addition, we will also introduce some of the more advanced obedience exercises:
- An inducive retrieve
- Jumping fundamentals including the broad jump
- Drop on Recall
- Go Outs
- Sit, Down and Stand

AKC Agility FUNdamentals
Wednesday Nights @ 6:00 p.m.
Learn the AKC obstacles: the teeter, the tire, the table, the chute, and beginning contact obstacles. Learn basic handling strategies for fast courses.
We'll begin with weave poles, teeter and the tunnel. We'll also start with some ground work: directional commands like "go on", "get out", "come in", "left" and "right". Handlers will work on handling skills using hoops and cones at the same time the dogs are learning distance and directional skills. Several different methods for each new skill will be introduced; you choose what works best for you and your dog.
Dogs need to be able to have off-leash control around other dogs and people when in class, and must be non-reactive when meeting other dogs.

Nosework Teamwork FUNdamentals
The newest K9 sport! This sport is tailor-made for reactive dogs, as only one dog is out working at a time — Your dog will never interact with other dogs. It's also a low-impact sport, and suitable for older dogs, or dogs with physical limitations.
Based on drug dog training skills, Nosework develops your dog's natural scenting abilities through fun and games.

Puppy PreSchool
for puppies between 10 weeks and 16 weeks of age who have received at least one set of vaccinations
This is a great foundation for you and your puppy. The time between 8 weeks and 16 weeks is an important time in your puppy's life for learning and socialisation. Puppies learn all the time, from everything around them. Early socialisation and training makes for a well-adjusted and well-mannered adult. Puppy training involves the integration of training and play, so that the puppy learns new and correct behaviour without even realising it's a training session.
In this class, we will work on socialization; introduction to basic skills such as sit, down and come; attention and focus; plus housetraining, crate training, handling to help make the puppy welcome at the vet's and groomer's; dealing with mouthing, chewing, jumping up, barking and more. We will talk about communication — how to talk so your puppy understands.
Bring a hungry puppy and yummy treats.

4 weeks – $60
Puppy Kindergarten
(for puppies 16 weeks to 6 months)
This is also a foundation class for you and your puppy. Take advantage of your puppy's natural desire to follow the pack leader to practice coming when called, and coming out of a play group and around other distractions. Puppy Kindergarten involves the integration of training and play, so that the puppy learns new and correct behaviour without even realising it's a training session.
In this class, we will continue to work on socialisation; introduction to basic skills such as sit, down and come; attention and focus; plus housetraining, crate training, handling to help make the puppy welcome at the vet's and groomer's; dealing with mouthing, chewing, jumping up, barking and more. 6 weeks – $90
Family Manners I
(puppies over 6 months of age and dogs of all ages)
You and your dog will learn SIT, DOWN and a relaxed LIE DOWN, STAY, walk on a loose leash and come when called and we'll also cover some common behaviour problems such as jumping up or charging out of doors. This class is designed to produce a well-mannered family pet.
The first session is without dogs so we can discuss dog-owning issues, introduce the clicker and work on timing of rewards together.
Bring a a flat buckle collar, leash, yummy training treats and a hungry puppy.
Comprehensive handouts provided.

What do I need to bring?
- A flat buckle collar. This can be a nylon collar with a plastic snap, or a leather collar with a buckle.
- A 4-foot to 6-foot leather or soft nylon leash. No chain leashes unless you don't care about your hands!
- Your dog's favourite toy for tugging or throwing. Balls, bumpers, soft frisbees, braided fleece, squeaky toys or a tug toys are all good choices.
- Yummy, soft treats, not crunchy ones. Something different from their regular dinner. String cheese or hot dogs cut up in small pieces are okay.
- Vaccination records.
- Plastic bags for clean up. Be a responsible dog owner and always come prepared!
- A hungry puppy! Please do not feed your dog before you come to class. A hungry puppy is an eager, attentive puppy!
